Summer Program

We offer a variety of summer programs for children of all ages.  Creative movement and Fairy Tale Ballet camps are offered for our younger dancers.  An intensive program is held each summer for the more serious and older students.

Creative Movement

This course is designed to provide a positive introduction to dance.  It incorporates basic ballet and tap instruction with music, rhythms, and imagery through movement.  It is required for all 3-5 year old students.

Classical Ballet

The objective of this course is to build a strong foundation in proper ballet technique and terminology.  Students will develop a sense of mind and body coordination, poise, and discipline.  All students are required to take ballet with us unless enrolled in Hip Hop/Acro only. Pointe, as well as multiple classes, are available for more advanced development.

Tap

Tap class is taught to develop a sense of musicality and rhythm.  Class is approached through the barre, center, and progressions based on classical and contemporary techniques.  In addition to classes for ages 3-18, Adult Tap classes are available during the school year.

Jazz

Jazz is a form of dance which changes and evolves with each decade.  Thus, students will be exposed to a variety of jazz techniques ranging from traditional to currently popular trends.  All students 3rd grade and up are encouraged to take jazz.

Modern

Modern class is offered to further advance the student’s dance experience.  Contemporary styles expose the student to the freedom and expression of movement.

African

Intermediate and advanced students may take African dance.  Dancers experience traditional and contemporary African movement that is based on Brazilian and Caribbean cultures.  It is a different and enjoyable way of moving.

Hip Hop

This is a high energy class that uses the latest sounds in Rap, R & B, and pop music together with movements influenced by some of today’s hottest video choreographers.  Hip Hop encompasses movement that has elements of popping, locking, and breaking as well as freestyle movement to give students the opportunity to develop their own style

Lyrical

Lyrical dance is a class that focuses on the use of motion to interpret the meaning of the music through creative expression.  It is based on the coming together of ballet with rock, pop, and alternative music as well as of jazz and modern dance style.

Musical Theater

Musical Theater combines jazz technique with other varieties to create a “Broadway” style of dance. This class includes warm ups, progressions and center floor work and combinations that combine acting with different styles of jazz dance.

Acro

This class will focus on basic acrobatic technique such as cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, etc.  It is great for students looking to enhance their agility, flexibility, and strength.  These classes will have an in-studio recital in May.
